Quarterday Imbolc 2017

2 posts in as many days? Shocking!

Quarterday has released its Imbolc 2017 edition. We have a fine selection of poetry this go around for you to enjoy; even one of my poems made it in! 

The fact that my fellow staff likes my poetry still surprises me, though, given my difficulties with the form through high school and college.
To pass along an announcement, Quarterday will only be doing two publications this year (this issue is technically the last of last year’s cycle). We are still taking poems, but it might be longer before you see yourself in print via us.

The Quarterday Review: Samhain 2016

I’m so very glad to announce that the next issue of The Quarterday Review is out! Not only did I have the pleasure of reading some great poetry for this edition, I’m also proud to say that my villanelle, “Build the Wall”, is included in this edition too. Please take a look!

Silence, or A Writing Parent’s Lament

There is a perfect silence, for the moment.

No machines run. No dogs bark. No clocks tick.

It has been done. Oh, great hallelujah, it has been done.

Softly, gently, the pencil moves, never quite disturbing the silence which enfolds the space as a heavy blanket.

Words flow, a quiet river of contentment, creativity thrives.

Shriek! A cry. Silence broken. The blanket shredded beyond all hope…

The toddler has arisen from his nap.
